Our Experience With Steel Erection Lifts

Aero supports steel erectors, general contractors, and pre-engineered building crews across the Northeast. Our crews understand how the erection plan drives every pick and how steel delivery cadence sets the day-to-day crane schedule.

Services

Operated crane, rigging, hauling, and storage all run through one Aero team. The crew that books the lift also handles the rig plan, the transport, and the staging.

Areas We Serve

Aero crews dispatch from South Windsor across Connecticut, Rhode Island, western Massachusetts, and southern Vermont. Equipment is matched to the site distance, road access, and lift requirements before the crane leaves the yard.

Fleet Capacity

The fleet spans 25-ton carry decks to 770-ton all-terrain Liebherrs, with boom trucks, truck cranes, and forklifts in between. Each crane is matched to the load, the site access, and the schedule of your job.

Sequenced With The Steel Plan

Steel work runs on sequence. Here is how Aero matches the erection plan.

Confirm Erection Plan And Steel Schedule

Tell us the erection drawings, the steel delivery schedule, and the GC's overall sequence. We map crane time to the bay-by-bay erection plan.

Match The Right Crane And Reach

Sized for the heaviest piece, the longest reach, and the site's setup constraints. We size from your steel weight chart and erection drawings.

Coordinate With Erector And GC

We sync with the steel foreman and GC so the crane stays where the connection crew needs it and moves when the next bay opens up.

Execute And Close Out

Operators on site, steel sets matched to the connection plan, building topped out and the crane released on schedule.

Steel Erection Crane Services Across The Northeast

Aero plans every steel job around the erection plan and the GC's master schedule. Talk to us about your next structural steel or pre-engineered building project.

Steel Erection Crane Questions

Common questions about steel erection crane work.

What kind of steel work does Aero support?

Structural steel sets including columns, beams, joists, and trusses. Pre-engineered metal building erection. Miscellaneous metals like stairs, railings, and decking. Whatever the erection plan calls for, paired with the right crane size and reach.

How do you match the erection sequence?

We work from your erection drawings and steel delivery schedule. Crane mobilization, repositioning, and demob are all planned around the bay-by-bay sequence so the crane is where the connection crew needs it and gone when the bay tops out.

Can you handle dual-crane lifts?

Yes. For long trusses or complex picks that require two cranes, we plan the dual-crane lift in advance with the engineer of record, run a written rigging plan, and brief both operators and the signal crew on the sequence.

What size cranes do you bring to steel jobs?

55-ton through 230-ton all-terrain cranes for typical steel sets. Boom trucks for smaller pre-engineered buildings and miscellaneous metals. Larger picks can be planned with additional capacity through partner relationships.

How much lead time is needed for steel erection?

Two to four weeks is ideal for scheduled erection starts, especially for jobs with multiple weeks of crane time or dual-crane picks. Smaller pre-engineered buildings can sometimes be planned in one to two weeks.
